Centennial Hall

Spirit River and surrounding area offer
excellent recreational
and cultural activities
for all ages.

Situated next to the Museum 4812 - 44 Avenue is the Centennial Hall. Built in celebration of Canada's 100th Birthday in 1967, the building features a full service kitchen, a 8,000 square feet main hall that includes a stage and a smaller meeting room known as the Culture Room. Also housed in the building are the pool and library.

Chepi Sepe Municipal Campground

The Chepi Sepe Municipal Campground is located along Highway 49 at the East entrance into town. There are 12 full service campsites, a cooking house, showers, and a sanitation dump all located in a beautiful park-like setting. There are also several other campgrounds located a short distance from Spirit River. The Tourist Information Booth at the campground will have more information on Moonshine Lake Provincial Park, Dunvegan Provincial Park, and other campgrounds in the area.

Chepi Sepe Campground and Picnic Area closed for the summer season September 30th, 2010. Therefore:
  • The water is permanently shut off
  • The bathrooms have been locked
  • Outdoor fires are banned
  • Please pick up after yourself
  • Electricity is available for paid campers only
Winter camping fee is 25.00 per night. Please register at the Town Office before 4pm on check-in day. License plate and site number required. After payment we will turn on electricity for your site only.

Spirit River Ag-rena

Winter doesn’t mean residents have to stay indoors.  It is busy everyday with public skating, power skating, figure skating and hockey for all ages. Built in 1952 and attached to the Centennial Hall, the arena is operated and maintained by the Spirit River and District Agricultural Society hence its name the Ag-rena. The Ag Society has plans to expand and upgrade this facility into a new, larger, economical and modern complex.

Spirit River Curling Club

The curling rink is located next door to the arena. The curling club has men's, ladies, mixed and junior curling programs. As well members host various bon-spiels throughout the season. The curling rink is operated and maintained by the Spirit River Curling Club.

Spirit River Centennial Pool

Spirit River Municipal Library

Located in the Centennial Hall complex is the Spirit River Municipal Library. The library has an excellent selection of books for loan, and is a member of the Peace Library System, allowing for access to books from libraries across the region. The Library provides internet access, interlibrary loans, children's programs and much more.

Spirit River Regional Airport

Situated north of Highway 49, the Spirit River Municipal Airport has a paved 3000 foot all weather 24 hour strip. This runway is maintained on an all season daily basis by the Public Works department. Pilots using the Airport are required to sign the log book located inside the airport building.
